We have been looking into whether potential customers take notice of mistakes in promotional and
advertising material and how it affects their choices of where they do business.
We have discovered that yes, potential customers do think twice if there are mistakes. To many people,
mistakes imply shoddy workmanship or carelessness, not just in a business’s advertising, but in the business as a whole. What is of great interest to us is: as a business owner do you care enough to make sure your material is correct?
We think that if a business goes to the trouble and expense of generating promotional material, then it’s worth making sure that mistakes don’t detract from the message.
Do you think twice about doing business with a company that has mistakes in their material?
